Benjamin Wood is an American architect born on a farm in Georgia in the country's Deep South. He flew F-4 Phantom fighter jets for five years in Europe during the Cold War before earning a Master of Architecture degree at MIT, since when he has designed a myriad projects, both in the United States and China.  His first renowned project in China was Shanghai Xintiandi, a comprehensive cultural and entertainment development located beside the site of the First National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party. This project , completed in 2003, which in the words of one critic“reinvented the urban entertainment venue” by preserving and re-imagining Shanghai's old houses and alleyways with a“radical quaintness”which changed the city and China beyond.

Ben Wood's career spans over 40 years, with more than 35 years dedicated to architectural and urban design in China since the inception of Shanghai Xintiandi. During this time, he has created numerous internationally acclaimed landmarks that achieve both cultural and commercial success. His notable works include the "Tiandi" series in Hangzhou, Wuhan, Chongqing, Foshan, and Shanghai's Hongqiao(The HUB) and Panlong areas, as well as the revitalization of historic and cultural districts such as Qianmen Street in Beijing, Tanhualin and Zhongshan Road in Wuhan, and Enning Road in Guangzhou.

With extensive experience and a unique perspective on life, Ben seamlessly integrates historical culture with modern living, crafting vibrant and inviting spaces for commerce, culture, and entertainment. His designs have played a pivotal role in shaping and energizing China's urban commercial districts.

Outside of China, Ben's most notable project is the renovation of Chicago's Soldier Field, home of the Chicago Bears. In 2003, The New York Times listed the New Soldier Field as one of the top ten new buildings of the year, and the American Institute of Architects (AIA) honored it with a design excellence award in 2004. Ben also spearheaded the transformation of New York's Times Square, turning it into the dynamic and cutting-edge destination it is today.

Ben's portfolio spans diverse architectural categories, including urban renewal, new community development, stadiums, resorts, residential projects, clubs, schools, and impactful art installations. He firmly believes that the future is what we imagine it to be, by daring to dream, we can create the reality we envision. At the end of 2022, he received the prestigious Magnolia Award from the Shanghai City Government in recognition of his contributions to enhancing the city's vitality.

Since joining the studio in 2009, William Wang has maintained a close collaboration with Mr. Wood, for over fifteen years, participating in and witnessing the studio’s evolution from its early explorations to its mature development. Since 2017, he has served as a lead designer, directing a series of major urban regeneration and district revitalization projects, including Yongqingfang Phase II in Guangzhou, Shang dynasty City Block in Zhengzhou, and Yangtze River Delta Creative Engine Phase II.

William possesses a deep understanding of spatial design at the neighborhood scale and of experience-oriented environments. He excels at balancing local culture with contemporary lifestyles and modern urban scenarios, creating designs that embody both civic character and a sense of place. Through years of practice, William has extended the concept of community vitality beyond commercial districts to a broader range of urban contexts. His projects build upon existing architectural structures while introducing openness, shared use, and diversity of functions, exploring new approaches to spatial renewal with greater social energy.

Xia Wen,Bachelor of Urban Planning. He excels at integrating philosophical thinking into the complex practice of urban renewal to provide systematic solutions. As a project manager, he participated in the entire process of design, development, and construction management of the Shanghai Panlong Tiandi project. Other projects he has worked on include the conceptual planning of the Shanghai Tilanqiao area, the Zhaojialou Ancient Town, the Qingpu New City, and the Shanshouli area; the urban renewal and sales office design of the Changchun Kuancheng Historical District; and the renovation of Zhongshan Avenue in Wuhan.

Li Jiening graduated with a bachelor's degree in Architecture from Wuhan University of Science and Technology. He has been long committed to projects involving commercial districts, urban renewal, and cultural heritage regeneration, actively exploring and reflecting on how to create works that combine aesthetic value, functionality, and sustainability within complex urban contexts. He is skilled at comprehensively managing project pace, requirements, and quality, ensuring the perfect realization of design concepts, and continuously creating value beyond expectations for both clients and the city. Major projects he has participated in include the renovation of Zhongshan Avenue in Wuhan, the renovation of the Tanhualin Historic District in Wuhan, Xian Anfang in Wuhan, and Panlong Tiandi in Shanghai.
